Ribat

رباط — “Ribat” — Arabic for “bond” or “tie,” from the root r-b-t, meaning to bind. The same word historically named the fortified frontier posts where devoted defenders stationed themselves — a place of duty, commitment, and something held firmly in place.

The name was chosen for the most literal reason of all: the handle is, quite simply, a knot. A single continuous length of brass ties itself into a genuine overhand knot at both ends — not an ornament applied to the piece, but the piece’s entire structure, twisted and bound the way rope is bound. Where Nabat grows and Musab endures, Ribat holds — the idea of a bond made visible and permanent.

That form carries through in a smooth, mirror-polished brass tube that curves in a gentle, rope-like wave from top to bottom, tying itself into a knot near the top and again near the base, with short straight ends emerging from each. No knurling, no texture — just a continuous, fluid surface that reads more like something looped by hand than cast in a mould.
